Bay Area-raised, Jason is a UX/UI designer who has previously worked in a number of different fields including web development, marketing, journalism and graphic/visual design within the HPC technologies to entertainment industries. Throughout his 9-year marketing and design career, his experience working with tradeshows and on print and digital collateral, has shown him that it’s not just the visual design and written appeal of a product that’s important, but rather the value that something presents to a customer. This stems from his personal interest in wanting to learn about how his creations and design can solve problems for people rather than just attract interest in a product to a potential customer.
In addition to helping launch several successful product lines in different industries, Jason’s biggest win to-date has been designing Penguin Computing secure its CTS-1 bid through designing a strong visual presentation for its marketing display and branding design. Through focusing the company’s collateral on scalability and the company’s innovative Open Compute technologies, Jason convinced stakeholders to trust the company’s ingenuity to support the NNSA’s mission to improve nuclear technologies.
Jason holds a BA in Film Studies from the University of California- Santa Barbara and is working on completing his Springboard UX Career Track certification soon. As his industry project (IDP) shows, he is ready to utilize all of the marketing, research and graphic design skills that he’s accumulated over the years to produce amazing experiences for customers.
As a competitive long distance runner/marathoner, Jason believes that it’s helped make him a better worker through learning how to adopt a long-term mindset. By breaking down each day down to a series of manageable tasks and mini-victories, he’s learned that it all contributes to a successful end result.
When he’s not running or working, Jason also enjoys playing the latest video games to study the latest visual UI trends along with hanging out and training his dog Cookie.
